Originally from Toulouse, the three sisters Anna, Magdalena and Caroline decided to form their trio once they reunited at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in 2016. As artists-in-residence at the Fondation Singer-Polignac, they are deepening their work in chamber music after all three have developed rich personal backgrounds. Each trained at the Paris Conservatoire and at prestigious schools abroad: the Hans Eisler in Berlin (Magdalena), the Mozarteum in Salzburg (Caroline) and the Colburn School in Los Angeles (Anna).
The string trio format appealed to them because of the specificity of its writing, combining a search for homogeneity between the three instruments with a more concertante approach. By joining forces with other musicians, they also gain access to broader repertoires, such as the piano quartet, which they have performed alongside Alexandre Kantorow, Adam Laloum and Clément Lefebvre, and the flute quartet.
Since its creation, the Sypniewski trio has been invited to perform at numerous festivals in France, including Jeudis Musicaux de Royan, Août Musical de Deauville, Orangerie de Sceaux, Musicales de Normandie, Festival Idéal au Potager du Roi à Versailles, Festival Jeunes Talents, Festival d'Auvers-sur-Oise, and abroad at the Ohrid Summer Festival (Macedonia) and the French Consulate in New York.
During their career, they have benefited from the guidance of cellist François Salque, the Quatuor Modigliani, the Quatuor Ébène and the Quatuor Belcea. They have won numerous prizes at the Académie Ravel in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. In September 2022, they will join Günter Pichler's chamber music class (Alban Berg Quartet) at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid.
